Planning a non-alcoholic tea party

Non-alcoholic tea party

Picnics are lovely. BBQs are fab. But sometimes you just want to break out your best china. Here's our recipe for a perfectly refined afternoon in your garden.

You will need:

•  Teeny cucumber sandwiches

•  Mini Victoria sponge cakes

•  Gluten-free brownies

•  Mini lemon and poppy seed muffins

•  Macaroons

•  Strawberries and cream

•  Scones, jam and clotted cream

•  Pots of refreshing tea

•  Homemade lavender lemonade

•  Sea Arch Sea Rose cocktails

If you're feeling adventurous, you can knock up a few batches yourself. But we won't tell if you decide to do a quick trip to Marksies instead. Feeling super adventurous? You could have a go at making your own bunting – and take a few trips to your local charity shops to find beautiful glasses, plates, tablecloths, napkins and teapots.

Don’t forget:

•  Give yourself plenty of time – hanging bunting and making everything beautiful takes time

•  Citronella candles to keep the mozzies at bay

•  Umbrellas so your guests have shade if they need it

•  Suncream
